Amazon’s Exceptional Service

November 29, 2010 has come a long way from being just an online bookstore in 1994.  Aside from expanding to selling almost anything under the sun and building a strong community of buyers and sellers, even coming up with their own product (Kindle), they have made leaps and bounds in improving their customer service which sets them apart from other online stores.

Navigating through the “Help” section can be a bit tricky, but once you find your way through and send Amazon a message about an inquiry or a problem, you can really expect a turnaround time of less than 12 hours before they send you feedback and any suggested solution.   They also take responsibility for their “One-Day Shipping” policy, even if an item is sold by a third-party seller.  They will refund shipping costs for delayed orders, or return the entire amount of the order if you never receive it.  If you intend to buy something through Amazon, especially if a product is from a third-party seller, better review their “Returns Policy” first… Amazon may be trusted, but not all sellers can be true to their word =S

Bottom line, Amazon really is safe.  They are serious about satisfying their customers.  It’s best to buy products sold directly by Amazon, but if you absolutely have to buy from third-party sellers, make sure they have 100% 5 stars and have positive reviews from at least 100,000 users.

Now I wish customer service in the Philippines was the same way…
